Goose Green Art Gallery - Summer 2024

Earlier this year I was introduced to Goose Green Art Gallery by a printing and framing company based in Timperley (https://lovetoframe.com/). The gallery is based in Altrincham, Manchester and is in the early stages of launching its summer ‘Open Call’ exhibition with an emphasis on showcasing the work of local (Manchester based) fine artists.

The gallery is located in the corner of the historic and regenerated ‘Goose Green’ in Altrincham, Manchester, UK.

The gallery opened during the pandemic and is an independant enterprise run by Gordon Allen. Gordon was kind enough to like my framed prints and I have allowed him to borrow them until around the end of July this year.

Gordon poses with the framed prints I submitted to this exhibition, he particularly likes ‘Albatross’ (top right).

I’ve been displaying these framed prints around my rented flat until recently and they equally feel at home on the upper storey of the gallery (although I am told they will be moving downstairs shortly).

Gordon snapped this photograph (with my instruction) despite having not used a camera for ‘close to 20 years’.

The gallery is still interested in new submissions to this exhibition - if you are an artist looking to ‘get yourself out there’ email your work to serenewatercolours@outlook.com and let Gordon know that I sent you. There may still be a space available for your original works or framed prints.

The gallery is home to a huge variety of artists and subject matter.

Gordon has been very helpful so far and limited edition prints of my work are available to purchase from the gallery, if you intend to visit. Alternatively visit https://goosegreengallery.com/ to check out the work of many other artists in residence.

Gordon was replying to an email enquiry as I was on my way out - please get in touch with him if you’d like to display your work in this exhibition: serenewatercolours@outlook.com
